Tsa Group of Companies (“Tsa” or “the Companies”) is an arms-length economic development corporation established in 1990 to generate wealth for the Łutsel K’e Dene First Nation (“ŁKDFN”). Guided by Dene values and a commitment to stewardship of the land, Tsa invests in sustainable ventures that create generational wealth and opportunity for its community.
History and Mandate
For more than three decades, Tsa has participated as a commercial partner in businesses operating in its traditional territory, particularly in the mining and resource sectors. Historically, its investments were passive in nature, focused on service provision to industrial operators.
In 2023, the Companies uncovered a significant financial fraud perpetrated over more than a decade by a former executive. This discovery marked a turning point in Tsa’s journey. In response, a new Board of Directors and CEO were appointed, ushering in a new era of accountability, transparency, and strategic renewal.
A New Chapter
Under new leadership, Tsa is actively rebuilding trust with its partners, enhancing governance, and realigning its investments to reflect both sound business principles and traditional Dene priorities. The Companies are committed to:
- Transparency and Good Governance – Robust financial controls and independent oversight are now in place.
- Partnership and Reliability – Tsa is a stable, reliable partner focused on long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.
- Sustainable Economic Development – New investments are grounded in environmental responsibility and cultural respect. Looking Forward Tsa is reclaiming its role as a driver of prosperity and opportunity for the Łutsel K’e Dene First Nation. We welcome new partnerships and opportunities that align with our vision: sustainable growth, rooted in Indigenous values, for the benefit of future generations.
